Starting point

Signing electronically is easy. The harder question is whether the chosen form is sufficient for the contract. A fixed-term lease needs a different signature level than a non-disclosure agreement, and some contracts cannot be concluded electronically at all.

If nobody checks this, the contract may not hold in a dispute.

The task

Contract type and form

Every contract is assigned to one of 31 contract types, each with its form requirement and a proposed signature level.

Stop with a reason

When a higher signature level is required, the process stops with a reason. Contracts that need notarial form are blocked.

Evidence dossier

Every step is recorded in a chained log that can only be extended, not changed. This produces an evidence dossier for each contract.

Encryption

Every document is encrypted with its own key. Data is stored on servers in Nuremberg, Germany.

The solution

How a contract runs through vertragssiegel:

1. Upload

Upload the contract as PDF or DOCX and choose the contract type. vertragssiegel proposes the signature level.

2. Invite

Invite recipients by email and set the order. Recipients do not need an account.

3. Sign

Sign with a confirmation code, an on-screen signature and a declaration of intent. The contract is then sealed and stored with its log.
